To make this gateway truly intelligent, we are looking for an insightful and experienced Senior Search Data Scientist to join our Search Team. This is a strategic role designed for a scientist who is driven to understand the "why" behind every search, defining and building our relevance systems from the ground up. In an environment where user privacy is paramount, the intelligence of our search engine must come from a profound, first-principles understanding of our content.

You will own the full analytical and modeling lifecycle, from analyzing content and building gold-standard benchmarks, to developing the next generation of our relevance, ranking, and query understanding models.

This role is for a natural problem-solver who combines scientific rigor with product intuition, and who is passionate about seeing their insights directly translate into a smarter, more intuitive search experience.

European legal working status is required.

What You'll Be Doing

• Become an Expert on Content : Dive deep into our vast corpus of documents, understanding its intrinsic properties. Build and maintain benchmark datasets, to serve as the core for all our improvements and initiatives.
• Translate Query Intent into Search intelligence : Work on the development of our query understanding capabilities. Develop and fine-tune a range of efficient Language Models for specialized tasks related to content enrichment and query understanding, such as Named Entity Recognition or topic classification.
• Build Advanced Relevance Features : Architect the features and models that power our core ranking and re-ranking systems, using insights derived from deep content and query analysis.
• Own the Science of Search Evaluation : Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making. You will design and analyze offline experiments and tests to prove the impact of our work and guide the product roadmap.
• Collaborate on Product Strategy : Act as a strategic partner to Product Managers and Engineers. Gather and analyse user feedback, identifying their information needs. Your analysis and insights will be critical in identifying new opportunities and shaping the future direction of our search and discovery products.
