Government Affairs Specialist Role
We are seeking an experienced Government Affairs Specialist to spearhead our government relations efforts in Spain. The successful candidate will be responsible for securing regulatory approvals, negotiating subsidies, and fostering strategic partnerships to overcome current project bottlenecks.
The ideal candidate will possess strong cross-cultural coordination skills, with experience in industrial project setup, land acquisition, permits, and subsidies within the Spanish manufacturing / energy sectors. Additionally, the ability to develop local partnership networks and serve as a liaison between HQ and Spanish government agencies is crucial.
Main Responsibilities :
Regulatory Affairs
Lead all permitting processes, including environmental impact assessments (EIA) and land acquisition
Secure investment incentives and subsidies from Spanish / EU authorities
Serve as the primary liaison between HQ and Spanish government agencies
Stakeholder Engagement & PR Strategy
Develop local partnership networks (industry alliances, energy providers)
Project Execution
Oversee industry certifications and interdepartmental coordination
Requirements :
5+ years of experience in government relations / public affairs within Spanish manufacturing / energy sectors
Full lifecycle experience in industrial project setup (land, permits, subsidies)
Strong cross-cultural coordination skills (language, government networks)
Preferred : Based in Madrid with experience supporting international enterprises
