We are looking for a Senior Electro-Optical (EO / IR) Design Specialist in Getafe, Spain
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing cutting-edge electro-optical systems and components. Your expertise will contribute to innovative solutions across various applications, including imaging systems, sensors, and optical communication technologies.
Your main tasks will be :
Design and development of advanced electro-optical (EO / IR) systems and subsystems, with a focus on infrared (IR) sensors for defense applicationsConduct detailed optical simulations and performance analyses using industry-standard tools (e.g., CODE V, ZEMAX)Perform system integration of EO / IR components into larger platforms, ensuring functional and environmental compatibilityLead and support lab-based testing and validation of optical prototypes, including sensor alignment and performance verificationCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, and software) for system-level design optimizationProvide technical guidance during production , including troubleshooting , root cause analysis , and resolution of optical issuesKeep abreast of technological trends in electro-optics and contribute to the continuous improvement of design methodologiesCreate and review technical documentation , specifications, and reports to support development, testing, and certificationAbout you :
You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics , or a related disciplineYou have 5+ years of experience in EO / IR system design , preferably within defense or high-tech industrial sectorsYou possess strong knowledge of optical engineering fundamentals , including imaging systems, sensors, optics, photonics , and laser technologiesYou have excellent communication skills with working proficiency in Spanish (C1) and at least English (B2)Mandatory skills :
Expertise in optical design software (e.g., CODE V , ZEMAX )Experience with simulation software such as Matlab and PythonSkilled in CAD tools such as Solid Edge or Siemens NXDemonstrated experience integrating EO / IR systems into embedded platformsFamiliarity with manufacturing processes , quality assurance , and tolerancing of optical componentsProven hands-on experience with optical testing setups, sensor alignment, and prototype validationAdded Value :
