As an On-Board Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of software for satellite-based systems and space applications. This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge embedded systems that support positioning, connectivity, planetary observation, and spacecraft exploration. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, taking ownership of software architecture, specifications, and development cycles. Responsibilities
- Define software specifications from system requirements and develop embedded software architecture.
- Monitor and manage the entire embedded software development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with project milestones.
- Identify, prioritize, and assign software development tasks following Agile methodology.
- Coordinate closely with other engineering teams, including system, hardware, firmware, and validation.
- Lead the creation of technical documentation and participate in project reviews with customers.
- Contribute to bid proposals and provide technical expertise during client interactions.
Qualifications
Degree in software engineering, computer science, aerospace engineering, telecommunications, industrial engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field; advanced degree or equivalent experience is a plus.At least 5 years of experience in real-time embedded software development.Knowledge of the V-model software development cycle and system-level understanding, including embedded systems.Experience with Agile methodology and ECSS processes.Excellent communication skills in English; additional fluency in Spanish or French is advantageous.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and adapt to complex, high-stakes projects.Contract and Work Arrangements
