Investment Banking Intern

We are looking for a proactive and committed Investment Banking ("IB") intern with strong analytical skills to join the Corporate & Investment Banking ("CIB") team in our Madrid office. This role would be a 6-month contract, starting in January / February 2026 (with the potential to extend for an additional 6 months). You will work in a fast-paced, international environment, with direct exposure to senior members of the CIB team. You will also gain in-depth knowledge of the Latin American ("LatAm") market and have the opportunity to work amongst the best talent in the Brazilian financial sector.The CIB division's focus is to support European clients in their strategic operations in LatAm. Within the division, the Investment Banking team provides customised assistance in the coordination, execution and negotiation of sales, acquisitions, investments, mergers and corporate restructurings, for mid and large size corporates and financial investors. As a member of the wider CIB team, you will also have the opportunity to be in contact with the Corporate Banking specialists who provide a wide range of services ranging from credit facilities, trade financing and guarantees to derivatives and deposits, gaining a deeper understanding of CIB's full breadth of services.What would be your main responsibilities?The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in all activities within IB including : Corporate finance analysis (capital structure overview, simplified projections, and calculation of basic metrics, monitoring key recent developments).Assist in preparing of client presentations and full pitch books.Assist in preparing of internal briefing memos and client strategy reviews.Preparing financial analysis and company valuations : relative valuation such as trading comparable multiples and precedent transactions, as well as support in discounted cash flow valuation methods.Assist in M&A deal execution : day-to-day requests, assistance in the preparation of transaction documents (Teasers, Information Memorandums, Management Presentations, Internal Committee presentations), preparation and coordination of Q&A, participate in DD process, etc.What skills / experience do we need?Strong academic background, educated to a bachelor's degree level in a finance-related discipline or engineering.Strong analytical skills.Excellent attention to detail.Solid organisational skills to cope with multiple demands from different teams.An interest in finance, the global economy, and emerging markets.Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills.Fluency in English both written and oral (required).Portuguese and / or Spanish language skills (desirable).Who are we looking for?We are looking for people who : Are flexible and great team players.Show commitment and responsibility.Have a can-do attitude.Show learning agility, a self-starter mind-set, and the ability to work autonomously.Are self-motivated and eager to find new ways to add value to the team.We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.Who are we?Itaú BBA Europe is a banking subsidiary of the Itaú Group, the largest banking institution in Brazil and in Latin America.
