Overview

Data Protection Officer (DPO) role based in Valencia, Spain. This is an on-site position and relocation to Valencia is required.

is looking for a dedicated Data Protection Officer to support growth in regulated markets and build a strong compliance team. The ideal candidate will have experience handling data protection queries within a compliance environment, preferably with at least 1 year of experience, and ideally within the iGaming industry. Experience with Maltese, Swedish, Danish, Italian, Romanian, Greek, Portuguese or Spanish regulatory frameworks is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Data Protection Officer, liaise with authorities, third parties, and customers on compliance and data protection matters.
  • Serve as a point of contact within the organisation for staff, regulators, and relevant public authorities on data protection issues.
  • Manage policies to ensure compliance with GDPR and other codes of practice.
  • Assess and rectify non-compliance areas in the compliance and data protection framework.
  • Collaborate with IT on data retention, handling of potential data breaches, and reporting.
  • Conduct risk assessments of new projects and agreements, perform DPIAs, and draft / review DPAs.
  • Ensure compliance related to customer and employee data, including data subject access requests, data deletion requests, and other rights.
  • Analyse local and cross-border data transfer regulations.
  • Conduct periodic audits and manage Data Processing Inventory.
  • Stay updated on compliance requirements and explore new markets and licenses.
  • Support compliance controls, regulatory reporting, and improvement plans.
  • Deliver training on compliance and data protection across all business units.
  • Assist the compliance team with ongoing projects.

Who you are

  • 2–3 years of experience as a DPO (experience in iGaming is a plus).
  • Self-driven and able to work independently.
  • Efficient and organized; able to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relations with other teams and third parties.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Nice to have

  • Understanding of Jira / Confluence.
  • Additional language skills, particularly Swedish, Danish, Spanish, or Portuguese.
