About the Role
We are looking to hire an electrical substations project director who will be responsible for managing high-voltage electrical substation projects with voltages equal to or greater than 220 KV. The role requires comprehensive responsibility for all project phases, from planning and execution to closure, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive execution and coordination of all project life cycle phases, from bidding and preliminary design to construction, commissioning and formal project handover, including the coordination of all associated external and internal stakeholders.
Manage the human resources necessary for the project, exercising effective leadership over a multidisciplinary international team.
Participate in the bidding, selection, contracting and administration processes for all contractors and suppliers.
Development and management of the project's assigned budget, generating cost, cash flow and profit / loss reports required by senior management.
Full responsibility for the creation and maintenance of the detailed project schedule.
Ensure all project activities are executed in strict compliance with quality standards.
Implementation and supervision of health and safety plans, adhering to the corporate safety culture.
Compliance with environmental regulations and promotion of sustainable practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Academic background :
University degree in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
Professional experience :
A minimum of 7 years of demonstrable experience in managing electrical substation projects of 220 KV or higher voltages is required. International experience is desirable.
Specific technical knowledge :
IEC and IEEE standards, as well as knowledge of best practices in construction procedures.
Extensive knowledge of HV equipment, electrical protections and SCADA.
PMBOK recognised project management methodologies and PMP certification (or equivalent) is desirable.
