Tradition are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our development team.
This is a development-focused role : you will work closely with developers to design, build and improve our CI / CD pipelines, deployment processes and core services, rather than purely maintaining infrastructure or systems.
You will help us ship high-quality software quickly and reliably, and contribute directly to the evolution of our trading and back-office integration platforms.
Main responsibilities within the DevOps Engineer position include :
DevOps & CI / CD
Design, implement and maintain GitLab CI / CD pipelines for automated build, test and deployment.
Collaborate with developers to streamline the development workflow and reduce manual steps through automation.
Apply infrastructure-as-code and containerization practices (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, or similar) to deliver repeatable and reliable environments.
Monitoring & Observability
Define and implement monitoring, logging and alerting across services (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK / EFK or similar tooling).
Ensure system health and reliability through proactive alerting, dashboards and incident response practices.
Work with the team to identify performance bottlenecks and improve service reliability and resilience.
Software Development Opportunities
Develop and maintain server-side applications and services in Java and / or C#.
Contribute to the design and implementation of APIs and integration services.
Manage and deliver projects to integrate Tradition’s trading and back-office systems with exchanges, clients and other 3rd parties.
Support the continuous enhancement and evolution of our service-oriented / microservices-based platform.
Key skills, experience and competencies required to be successful in this role :
2+ years of professional experience in a relevant full-time software engineering / DevOps role.
Hands-on experience building and maintaining GitLab CI / CD pipelines (or similar CI / CD platforms).
Practical knowledge of containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, AWS).
Strong understanding of software development practices , version control (Git) and collaborative workflows (merge requests, code reviews, branching strategies).
Ability to work closely with developers and stakeholders, communicate clearly and take ownership of delivering robust solutions.
Desirable Skills
Software development background with at least one programming language ; Java preferred (C# or others also beneficial).
Experience in financial markets or trading systems.
Experience building and consuming JSON / REST APIs.
Familiarity with SOA / microservices architectures .
Exposure to monitoring and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK / EFK, etc.).
