Senior Group Accountant (Barcelona, Hybrid, 3 Days Onsite)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager – Group Accounting to join our finance team in Barcelona. This is a key position within the Group Finance function, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting across the Group. You will play a central role in maintaining compliance with IFRS and in driving consistency and excellence in financial governance across all subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities
Group Accounting Leadership :
- Take ownership of the Group’s accounting and reporting policies, ensuring full compliance with IFRS and relevant internal standards.
Internal Controls & Compliance :
Oversee compliance with internal control frameworks and financial reporting requirements, ensuring a robust and transparent reporting environment across the Group.Reporting Efficiency :
Design and maintain an effective, efficient, and fast reporting process for all Group entities, supporting timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.Financial Analysis :Lead the analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements of Group companies, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for management decision-making.IFRS Expertise :
Act as a “Center of Competence” within the Group, preparing ad-hoc IFRS interpretations for complex business transactions and advising both Group management and subsidiary finance teams.Audit Management :
Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors during the audit of the consolidated financial statements and individual Group companies.Continuous Improvement :
Support ongoing optimization of accounting processes, systems, and reporting standards, contributing to a culture of excellence and continuous development within the finance team.About You
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.Extensive experience in Group accounting and consolidation under IFRS, ideally in an international or multi-entity organization.Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and experience providing expert guidance on complex accounting topics.Proven track record in managing audits and liaising with external auditors.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Fluent in English; additional European languages are an advantage.Why Join Us?
