Position Overview
The Construction Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from start to finish. This includes managing budgets, schedules, resources, quality, and safety to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, construction expertise, and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders including engineers, subcontractors, clients, and regulatory authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Execution
Develop detailed construction plans, schedules, and budgets for assigned projects.
Coordinate and oversee all phases of construction from site preparation to project completion.Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet deadlines and targets.Ensure compliance with design specifications, building codes, and client requirements.Supervise, mentor, and lead on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors.Allocate resources effectively and manage workforce productivity.Conduct regular team meetings, safety briefings, and performance reviews.Budget & Cost ControlPrepare and manage project budgets, including material, labor, and equipment costs.
Monitor expenses, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and report variances to management.Approve purchase orders, invoices, and change orders in accordance with company policies.Quality Assurance & SafetyImplement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure high construction standards.
Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, OSHA requirements, and company safety policies.Conduct site inspections and audits to identify potential risks and implement corrective actions.Stakeholder CommunicationServe as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory authorities.
Provide regular project updates, status reports, and risk assessments to management and clients.Resolve conflicts and issues promptly to maintain project timelines and relationships.Documentation & ReportingMaintain accurate project documentation including schedules, reports, permits, and contracts.
Track project milestones, deliverables, and regulatory compliance.Prepare and submit final project reports and as‑built documentation.Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.5–10+ years of experience in construction project management.Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and safety standards.Proven leadership and team management skills.Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving abilities.Proficient with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore).Preferred
Master’s degree or professional certifications (PMP, CCM, LEED).Experience in large‑scale commercial, industrial, or residential construction projects.Familiarity with budgeting, procurement, and contract management.Knowledge of sustainability practices, green building standards, and modern construction technologies.Benefits
