Carbon Offset Director

ERM CVS is a rapidly growing global Business Unit within ERM, and we are looking to expand our accredited VVB and broader corporate assurance services in Continental Europe.

Our ERM CVS assurance team provides high-quality assurance engagements across the full range of sustainability information, with over 25 years of credible experience. As the importance of climate and broader sustainability strategies, third-party verified data disclosures, and net-zero commitments increases, the role of our accredited VVB in ensuring high-quality carbon credits is crucial.

JOB PURPOSE

Due to growing demand for high-quality carbon offsets and credits, we seek a result-driven, enthusiastic, and experienced individual to lead the sales and delivery of our carbon offset / credit VVB service line and support the growth of our Corporate Assurance team in continental Europe.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with ERM’s global CVS assurance team, Climate Market Team, decarbonization team, reporting and disclosures team, and key clients to build and lead this service line and team.

Responsibilities include :

Selling validation and verification services and other assurance offerings in strategic markets.

Developing and executing a business plan to expand brand awareness in the VVB space globally.

Managing the sales pipeline from opportunity identification to closing.

Developing Sectoral Scopes under Verra and Gold Standard.

Leading the global VVB delivery team through training and recruitment.

Serving as lead auditor on assurance engagements as needed.

Driving sales of broader Corporate Assurance services across continental Europe.

Technical skills and knowledge

Proven successful sales experience in Validation and Verification services under accreditation schemes like Verra and Gold Standard.

Strong network within the voluntary carbon offset and credit market.

Experience maintaining an audited management system.

Relevant technical degree, preferably in nature-based solutions, process engineering, physics, or chemistry.

Knowledge of nature-based solutions in carbon offsets and credits.

At least 5 years’ experience in sales related to carbon verification schemes, climate change, or consulting.

Understanding of GHG accounting and reporting standards like GHG Protocol, SBTi, EEIO.

Awareness of climate legislation and market drivers in Europe.

Experience with non-financial audit standards such as ISAE 3000 and ISO 14064-3.

Proficiency in MS Office tools.
