The Role

As a Senior Cobol Developer, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our Cobol applications. You will collaborate with a team of engineers and developers across our infrastructure. A strong commitment to collaborative problem-solving, sophisticated design, and high-quality product delivery is essential.

What You’ll Do

Develop and maintain scalable global Cobol applications supporting our product offerings.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and enhance features.

Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in software development.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications to ensure optimal performance.

Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on industry trends and technologies.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

6+ years of proven proficiency in COBOL programming (COBOL-85), with the ability to write, modify, and maintain batch and online COBOL programs.

Experience supporting production systems by troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving issues in COBOL programs using debugging tools (e.g., Xpediter, Abend-AID).

Nice to have : Experience with MicroFocus Net Express 3, Microsoft Visual Basic, C language.

Prior experience with Agile methodologies.

Strong knowledge of CI / CD tools and workflows.

Understanding of Domain-Driven Design and Microservice architectures.

Experience with SQL Server, NoSQL, and / or Oracle databases.

API design experience.

Strong knowledge of Business-Driven Design and Test-Driven Development.

Experience developing middleware applications using modern technologies with relational and non-relational databases, including cloud-hosted applications.

Performance engineering skills and ability to educate teams on non-functional requirements for web-scale applications.

Middleware and security experience, including fixing vulnerabilities.

A strong background in the PaaS space is preferred.
