We are looking for a DevEx Engineering Lead to join our team in Valencia, Spain . The mission is to own the strategy, tooling, and culture that make every BrainRocket engineer faster and happier. You will lead the DevEx Engineering team, own our Internal Developer Platform, and establish measurable, self‑service practices around build, release, and observability.
Responsibilities
- Lead a DevEx / DevRel / Platform team with a proven track record of hiring and mentoring engineers.
- Own the Internal Developer Platform and drive self‑service tooling and automation using Node.js & TypeScript (plus additional languages such as Go, Python, or Java).
- Present clear stories to influence executives, partner teams, and individual contributors.
- Design, implement, and maintain an Internal Developer Portal.
- Provide scorecards and best‑practice guides on toolsets, plugins, frameworks, and processes.
- Drive the TechRadar initiative, including trialling, assessing, adopting, and decommissioning solutions.
- Collect developer‑centric KPIs, run satisfaction surveys, and iterate on tooling to reduce lead time and cognitive load, establishing a DevEx feedback loop (surveys, Slack AMA, interviews).
- Develop and deliver internal training programs, workshops, and documentation to onboard new developers and upskill existing teams.
- Establish mentorship opportunities and encourage knowledge sharing across teams.
- Communicate and collaborate closely with all engineering departments to identify and solve pain points in development, testing, and delivery, ensuring security and reliability.
- Accumulate best practices and scale them as reusable company‑wide solutions.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience leading DevEx / DevRel / Platform teams.Strong skills in Node.js & TypeScript; experience with one or more of Go, Python, or Java for tooling and automation.Clear storyteller who can influence executives and partner teams.Prior experience working on an Internal Developer Platform or DevEx initiative.Familiarity with tools like Port.io, Cortex, Backstage, etc.Understanding of microservices architectures and team / service ownership models.Experience driving architecture and implementation of an Internal Developer Portal.Proven ability to drive process improvements, measurements, and developer experience initiatives.Benefits
