The Concrete, Sustainability and Smart Structures (C3S, ) research group of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC – BarcelonaTech) is seeking highly motivated candidates to apply for predoctoral fellowships (FPU, FI or equivalent) starting in 2026. We are looking for potential research profiles within our ongoing research lines :

Optimization and digitalization of construction processes : development of data-driven and sensor-based models for monitoring concrete performance, optimizing curing and construction operations, and quantifying their economic and environmental impact.

Sustainability assessment and decision methodologies : application and development of multi-criteria evaluation frameworks to assess the sustainability of infrastructure projects.

• New materials applied to concrete : study and optimization of novel or alternative cementitious materials to enhance durability, mechanical performance, and environmental efficiency.

Candidates will join an active and interdisciplinary research environment in Barcelona, collaborating with both academic and industry partners. The C3S group is involved in regional, national, and European projects focused on sustainable and digitalized construction.
