Senior Technical Project Manager
to oversee the technical delivery of a major
EPC project
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Strategy Lead the technical design and execution of a large-scale EPC project. Ensure engineering outputs align with technical deliverables. Support additional capital and operational projects as required. Multidisciplinary Coordination Oversee technical calculations, process engineering, and specification of a large distillation facility. Integrate and coordinate engineering packages across civil, electrical, structural, safety, 3D modelling, and BIM teams. Schedule & Documentation Management Provide technical input into project schedules, resource planning, and critical path analysis. Maintain structured document control systems, managing submittals, revisions, and client correspondence. Change Control & Commercial Support Apply formal change management processes to protect scope, cost, and contractual alignment. Evaluate technical modifications and liaise with client representatives. Client Collaboration & Reporting Act as the primary technical point of contact for the client. Prepare regular progress reports covering milestones, risks, and change requests. Internal Reporting & Stakeholder Alignment Keep senior leadership informed on project progress, risks, and resourcing needs. Ensure technical execution aligns with organisational priorities. Resource Planning Define and allocate technical resources across multiple engineering disciplines. Monitor utilisation and forecast future needs. Risk, Compliance & Technical Oversight Identify and mitigate project risks. Ensure compliance with Spanish and EU regulations, including HAZOP / LOPA where needed. Review deliverables such as P&IDs, plant layouts, process simulations, equipment design, instrumentation, structural compliance, and installation / commissioning activities. Procurement, Quality & Safety Support procurement, vendor evaluation, and contractor performance management. Uphold quality standards and promote a strong safety culture. Continuous Improvement Capture lessons learned and drive project delivery improvements. Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal knowledge sharing. Qualifications Degree in Chemical Engineering (Master’s preferred). 8+ years’ technical project management experience in industrial plant environments (distillation, chemical, beverage, or similar). Proven experience leading multidisciplinary EPC projects. Strong background in supplier oversight, installation, commissioning, and start-up. Fluent Spanish; strong English proficiency. Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Excel, Compress, PV Elite, Aspen HYSYS, and Aspen B-Jac. Skilled in stakeholder management, compliance navigation, and cross-functional leadership. Willingness to travel and work on-site as required. Valid driving licence preferred. What’s Offered Competitive salary and performance incentives.
