MANAGING DIRECTOR

Fundació Institut de Recerca de l’Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau (IR Sant Pau) manages the Sant Pau Research Institute, part of the CERCA system, and accredited as a Health Research Institute by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III since 2011. Established in 1992, it promotes research in health sciences and biomedicine.

Mission and Objectives

The foundation aims to promote research, innovation, and training in life sciences and health, fostering collaboration within its research groups and with external entities. It employs over 400 professionals supporting 1,300 researchers across 73 groups, producing significant scientific output, including over 1,200 publications in 2024.

IR Sant Pau has received the "HR Excellence in Research" recognition from the European Commission. It has five transversal programmes focusing on advanced therapies, genomic medicine, biomarkers, healthcare, and women's health.

The institute's research aligns with national and European strategies, integrating research into healthcare systems. It benefits from modern infrastructure, including specialized laboratories and clinical trial units, and is committed to advanced therapies development.

The new Strategic Plan aims to position the institute as an international leader in translational biomedical research, emphasizing excellence, talent, impact, international projection, and organizational culture, using innovative agile methodologies.

Desired professional competencies include team management, financial and process management, clinical trials experience, negotiation, strategic planning, and organizational skills.

Requirements

• Preferably a degree in Economics, Business Administration, Management, Medicine, Biomedicine, or Pharmacy; other degrees considered.
• Master's in Management, MBA, or similar.
• At least 5 years of management experience in research-related institutions, preferably hospital-based.
• Proficiency in Catalan (spoken and written); candidates without a C-level certification must acquire knowledge within a year.
• Advanced English skills.
• Proficiency in office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
