Job Overview

You will oversee multiple projects from the design phase through to completion, ensuring successful and timely delivery. Collaborating closely with various departments and the Central Operations Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing project activities efficiently while maintaining alignment with company objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Operations Oversight : Oversee daily operations of the solar PV plant to achieve energy production targets while adhering to safety and environmental regulations. Continuously monitor performance metrics and analyze data to diagnose and resolve inefficiencies.
  • Maintenance Management : Design and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to maximize equipment lifespan and minimize downtime. Supervise troubleshooting, repair, and optimization efforts for critical systems such as inverters, modules, and transformers. Lead and mentor the O&M team, including engineers, technicians, and contractors, fostering a culture of excellence. Organize training programs to ensure the team stays current with industry best practices and technology.
  • Compliance and Reporting : Ensure adherence to industry standards, grid regulations, and health and safety protocols. Generate detailed reports on performance, maintenance activities, and compliance for stakeholders.
  • Technical Expertise and Support : Serve as the primary technical advisor for system improvements, equipment upgrades, and plant optimization. Work collaboratively with external consultants and contractors for specialized tasks and upgrades.
  • Cost and Efficiency Management : Drive operational cost reductions while maintaining safety and performance standards. Evaluate and implement innovative technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce expenses.
  • Project and Client Management : Develop and manage project plans, tracking timelines, budgets, and deliverables. Maintain clear communication with clients and escalate issues to project heads when necessary. Ensure client KPIs are met and proactively inform clients of any potential risks or delays.
  • Health and Safety (H&S) : Facilitate adherence to H&S policies, including risk assessments, method statements, and site rules. Ensure all H&S statutory notices, files, and procedures are updated and accessible. Embed a safety-first mindset across all operational activities. Identify opportunities for improvement in H&S, operational processes, and team efficiency. Stay informed about new regulations, industry trends, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Build strong relationships with stakeholders through effective communication, presentations, and representing the company in client meetings, maintaining professionalism in all interactions.

Key Skills

  • Educational Background : Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering is required. Advanced qualifications such as a Master’s degree or certifications like NABCEP or PMP are highly regarded.
  • Professional Experience : Minimum of 5 years in operations and maintenance within the renewable energy sector, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Proven expertise in managing solar PV plants of similar scale and delivering successful projects while managing diverse stakeholders. Strong customer-oriented mindset and relationship management skills.
  • Technical Expertise : In-depth understanding of solar PV system components, SCADA systems, and grid interconnection processes. Proficient in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues. Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledgeable about H&S practices and CDM regulations.
  • Soft Skills : Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills. Analytical, problem-solving, resilient, adaptable, and detail-oriented. Capable of working under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Languages : Fluency in Spanish is essential; English proficiency is an advantage.
