Sener Aerospace and Defence is currently looking for Senior Software Engineers to join our Avionics and Flight System Division at our Tres Cantos work center (Madrid) or Cerdanyola del Vallès (Barcelona).

We are a pioneering engineering company in the design of satellite technology and equipment for space exploration. In defence, we design and produce equipment and systems, including unmanned systems. What you will do :

Define software solutions : architectures, components, interfaces, requirements.
Prepare software specifications for development.
Understand hardware / firmware platforms and define software / hardware, software / firmware interfaces.
Break down solutions into manageable software components and tasks based on project constraints.
Implement and test critical software functions.
Debug software effectively.
Guide and coordinate a small team of software engineers.
Lead trade-offs between make or buy decisions.
Participate in proposal preparations.

What we expect from you :

Engineering Degree.

At least 8 years of experience in software development, preferably in space, defence, or automotive sectors.

Experience across all software lifecycle stages : requirements, architecture, implementation, validation, and integration.

Proficiency in defining software architectures, layers, components, interfaces.

Ability to understand user requirements and provide guidance on solutions, including hardware and firmware considerations.

Strong communication skills for technical discussions and presentations.

Experience with agile methodologies and continuous integration tools.

Proficiency in English.

We also value :

Experience with Linux-based operating systems.

Expertise in Simulink and MATLAB.

Strong C and C++ coding skills.

Knowledge of modern OS and hypervisors.

An open-minded approach focused on individual components and solutions.

For high-level software :

Strong C# skills.

Knowledge of data structures and processes.

Experience with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL).

Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Experience with TCP, UDP, and socket programming.
