The successful candidates will be joining the Optoelectronics group led by Prof. Dr. Valerio Pruneri .
The group has experience in the study and development of new advanced materials, devices, and systems for information and communication technologies, particularly displays, image sensors, and secure communications. The main drive of the group is to carry out applied research that bridges academia and industry by developing fundamental ideas with great potential for revolutionizing future photonic products.
The candidates will work on projects related to classical and quantum photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and must have experience in the topic (design, simulation, characterization, or packaging of PICs). The aim of the work will be the development of next-generation PIC-based technologies, ranging from classical photonic processing to quantum communication, sensing, and metrology. On-chip quantum key distribution transmitters, entangled pair sources, and single photon sources are also important topics in the group.
The group is currently involved in several European projects.
Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the nearest future), preferably in Physics, Photonics, or Engineering.
The candidate should have a proven track record in one or more of the following :
Good level of research independence and project management are expected.
