The position is based in Madrid within the EGM Madrid branch, with functional reporting to the Deputy CRO Europe and local management by the COO.

EGM Madrid branch of the French company Engie Global Markets (EGM), which is MIFID licensed as an investment firm and regulated in France, Belgium, Singapore, and Italy.

Mission

Provide KYC / AML and Ethics analysis, monitoring, and reporting services to support the development of the GEM BU.

Ensure compliance with existing regulations, ENGIE and BU GEMS internal policies, and the implementation of GEM KYC tools and processes.

Be instrumental in building know-how and training other analysts in this respect.

Participate in regular team tasks such as Bad Press Watch, Sanction and PEP watch, SSI watch, Mailbox watch, etc.

Participate in permanent supervision controls by implementing requested corrections.

Support management in handling regulatory projects (Watch filtering, country risk rating, policies review, etc.) and assist the business in developing new activities.

Responsibilities :

  • Ensure compliance with GEM risk policies and procedures.
  • Client onboarding and portfolio review.
  • Analyze files for KYC / AML and Ethics compliance for new and existing counterparties.
  • Depending on seniority, endorse 4-eye check responsibilities.
  • Support drafting clauses with counterparties in collaboration with legal.
  • Participate in team tasks like Watch lists and mailbox monitoring.
  • Correct findings from supervision controls.
  • Support regulatory projects and new activity development.
  • Respond to external requests and urgent business needs.
  • Follow up on existing counterparties' KYC status and raise alerts if needed.
  • Use databases to search and request documents from customers.
  • Manage MIFID / EMIR / REMIT classifications.
  • Manage alerts related to sanctions and bad press.
  • Provide alerts and recommendations based on analysis.
  • Key skills, knowledge, and abilities :

  • Experience in AML / KYC file validation.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a KYC / AML risk role, preferably in trading or CIB banking environments.
  • Knowledge of commodity transactions, physical and financial products, mechanisms, and risks is a plus.
  • Ability to optimize onboarding processes and advise front office.
  • Strong control culture and stress resilience.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (written and oral); other languages are a plus.
