Descripción del trabajoSupporting the growth of Casualty business in Madrid, especially after Patricia's departure, including tasks such as pricing and assessing liability risks within our risk appetite and guidelines. Developing market relationships with brokers and clients; prior commercial skills and a broking network in Spain are required. Managing complex renewals, negotiating terms, assessing exposures, and issuing referrals. Familiarity with in-house tools (e.g., Rulebook, DOT, PowerBI, RFID, Peer Reviews, Underwriting Authority Governance). Completing files, conducting peer reviews, and participating in the IPR process. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and demonstrating behaviors aligned with Conduct Risk Policy, including understanding responsibilities related to Solvency II, fair treatment, financial crime, data protection, conflicts of interest, and whistleblowing. University degree or higher education, preferably Law. Experience in Casualty underwriting, including large and complex risks, with a general understanding of other liability lines. Strong communication skills. Responsibility-taking, target-driven, professional, and confident with brokers and clients. Initiative, autonomy, and proactiveness are essential. Organized and service-oriented. Committed to professional development. Fluent in Spanish and English, with clear and concise communication skills.
Casualty Senior Underwriter, reporting to me and working in close cooperation with the rest of the underwriting team in our Madrid office.
About the Department & Team :
- Underwriting Casualty business.
- Commercial activity, dealing with our brokers and clients effectively.
- Handling both new business and renewal submissions with appropriate U / W Authority.
- Checking documents : submissions, underlying policies, slips, and loss records.
- Using rating tools and supporting systems (e.g., Rulebook, DOT, PowerBI, RFID, Peer Reviews, Underwriting Authority Governance).
