The role involves close relationships with invested companies and various functional areas across the business (IT, Marketing, Maintenance, Capex, Admissions, etc.). Direct contact with the CEO is required for budgeting and ad-hoc requests and analysis.
Additionally, the role offers an exciting opportunity to drive improvements and efficiencies within the Finance team and across other teams as the company continues to grow organically and through acquisitions.
This position is based within the Spanish small but busy Head Office team, where demands vary daily. Flexibility and the ability to react to a variety of ad-hoc situations, either independently or as part of a team, are essential.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts : Ensure timely submission of accurate accounts to Group for all Spanish entities, complying with international accounting standards.
- Own the financial performance analysis : Understand business trends, prepare the Spain Reporting Pack, explain key variances to budget and prior year, and provide insights to management and senior leadership.
- Communicate results : Maintain close relationships with heads of invested companies and functional managers, exchanging relevant information.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting : Manage processes for Spain, ensuring involvement of relevant managers and alignment with final budgets.
- Collaborate with transactional accounting team : Ensure segregation of duties and process controls.
- Develop and manage team : Provide training and leadership to foster a best-in-class team.
- Support integration of acquired businesses : Assist in transitioning to group accounting policies.
- Support balance sheet reviews : Conduct reviews and ensure accuracy.
- Handle ad-hoc queries : Respond accurately and promptly to Group requests.
