Our team “Value Chain Optimization” develops innovative solutions to derive insights from data that support better and faster business decisions. We implement data-driven and digital twin solutions in its complete lifecycle for users in supply chain and inventory management around the world.

As an Operations Research Expert for Digital Supply Chain Twins, you will drive new use cases, ensure their scalability towards more decision making situations and maintain their mathematical models along the lifecycle of the AI solutions.

  • You will be responsible for implementing AI solutions such as mathematical optimization for decision support along supply chains and inventory management.
  • You will develop the optimization and / or simulation logic for digital twins in supply chains.
  • You will develop and maintain non-standard optimizers for scheduling and sizing of batch production.
  • You will apply and enhance optimizers of standard planning software for supply chain planning (e.g., OM Partners).
  • You will have a strong focus on data preparation and on the further development of the existing middleware to connect the non standard optimizers with the standard planning software.
  • You will guide and train new user teams in understanding data needs, data quality, mathematical optimization, and its relevance for making best use of digital supply chain twins.
  • You will translate requirements of business functions like supply chain, marketing and production into AI solutions including mathematical optimization.
  • You will contribute to benefit cases and guide business partners through the process of selecting, comparing, and interpreting scenarios of optimization runs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in a team with experienced data scientists, data & software engineers & product owners and create scalable, reusable and performant data-driven environments applications running in productive
  • Convey technically difficult concepts in a clear and understandable way, translate business needs to technical specifications, and provide guidance for knowledge graph & ontology development to other teams

  • Drive the sustainable implementation of our new GenAI-oriented Supply Chain Intelligence platform, including :
  • Data integration for various Supply Chain AI solutions
  • Utilizing enterprise data product, semantic and ontology concepts
  • GenAI functionalities.
  • Create product requirement documents and maintain it in an agile working mode, e. g. in Azure DevOps boards and tasks.
  • Work in an international and agile DevOps environment and apply agile principles for setting priorities and managing multiple stakeholders in a challenging business environment.
  • Share your knowledge and expertise with colleagues and promoting a culture of data-driven innovation within the organization
  • Manage communication with external vendors to validate the landscape design & integration concept.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in operations research, mathematics, industrial engineering, computer science, natural sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of working experience in applying mathematical models in industrial settings.
  • Proven track record of successful operations research-related projects, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Excellent programming and hands-on coding skills in Python and other relevant languages, like GAMS, C#, SQL
  • Experience with Cloud technologies like Microsoft Azure (e.g., Synapse, Databricks, Purview), CI / CD using e.g., git, docker, Azure Devops
  • An independent (“can-do”), solution-oriented and team-oriented way of working, not afraid to take on responsibility
  • Strong desire to learn & upskill at the intersection of data, mathematics & industry
  • Supply Chain domain knowledge
  • Comfortable working in highly complex environment with multiple stakeholders and with strong pressure to deliver on time and on budget.
  • Strong Communication & Presentations skills
  • NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience in supply chain management / planning
  • Experience with data visualization software such as Power BI, Tableau
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning software, e. g. SAP
  • Experience with Agile software-development using Scrum / Kanban
