Job Purpose
BARCELONA site belongs to our Meat & Dairy Business Unit. The Meat & Dairy Business Unit of Amcor Flexibles EMEA utilises sophisticated coating, printing, laminating and specialist conversion technologies across a number of European sites, supplying a range of flexible packaging products to a prestigious, food customer base.
The Operations Manager within our BARCELONA site is responsible for managing Production, Maintenance, Warehouse (indoor logistics), Technical Services areas and the main priorities will be as follows :
- Safety
- Compliance with company / plant policies and procedures
- Alignment with plant objectives and customer requirements
- Focus on continuous improvement and innovation
- Within Plant Leadership Team, support PGM in the plant management, with a drive for excellence approach.

Delivering budget in terms of production volumes, costs, CapexSupporting the organisation for the management of the safety performance of the plantTaking an active role in the plant’s safety programs and goals, and spreading safety cultureDefining and assigning goals and improvement projects to the line managers focused on competitiveness, efficiency and business continuityDefining and managing organisational processes and improvements (roles, responsibilities, number of headcounts, shifts, activities), according to company policies and budgetDefining and verifying the correct KPIs to control processes performanceLeading innovation and changesPromoting Amcor Values within the plantSupporting PGM and Plant Leadership Team in the plant managementSupporting PGM and HR in industrial relations and disciplinary issuesHeightening own team performances, knowledge and leadershipMaintaining high level of collaborators’ motivation and engagementRequesting and supporting CI improvement projectsCreating value through best practices sharing with other plants and introduction of new technologiesQualifications / Requirements
Formal Qualifications And ExperienceA minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment and supervisionExperience in (flexible) packaging is an advantage but not a pre-requisite for the roleExperience of successfully managing significant change / transformation projects within a manufacturing environment.First-hand experience of Lean and continuous improvement methodologies e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.Degree in a science, technology or engineering subject preferred; advanced degree advantageous.Knowledge of production machines, tools and related process control equipment, energy management, GMP’s, SAP and shop floor systems, safety and environmental regulation ( Spain , EU), use of statistic calculation tools, basics of finance, Integrated Quality Assurance Systems (EHS, quality);Specific Skills And AbilitiesTeam working and coordinated management of the department.Execute promptly the activities established by the action plansCustomer orientation (final and internal customer)Promote active communication and keep a positive attitude towards problem solving.Have initiative and be adaptable towards internal and external opportunities and threats.Guarantee the application and observance of AF Barcelona Mission, Strategy, Style and Values in team management, assuring coherence and exemplarity of the people in their performance.Fluent Spanish, Fluent spoken and written English; other languages advantageous.Change management.Strong leadership & coaching skillsCulturally sensitive.Drive and energy.Hands-on.Pragmatic.Analytical and structured.J-18808-Ljbffr
