GNC Modelling and Simulation Engineer
DEIMOS is seeking an engineer to join the GNC / AOCS Competence Centre within the Flight Systems Business Unit. The role involves developing Modelling and Simulation solutions to support Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC), including Attitude and Orbit Control Systems (AOCS), and Failure Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (FDIR).
The activities focus on designing, developing, and validating autonomous systems for aerospace platforms, emphasizing high-fidelity models and simulation environments that replicate real flight conditions.
Main Duties
- Specification, design, implementation, and validation of environmental and spacecraft dynamics, sensors, and actuators for various aerospace applications.
- Development and maintenance of tools for model validation and versioning.
- Supporting strategies for code reusability and scalability across the Competence Centre.
Educational Requirements
Required : Recognized engineering degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Electronic, or related fields.Desired : Postgraduate studies (MSc or PhD) with focus on aeronautical / aerospace engineering, including areas like orbital mechanics, structural modelling, or system engineering.Professional Experience
Minimum of 1-3 years relevant experience; academic experience is also valued.Technical Skills
Required : Strong MATLAB / Simulink skills, modelling of environment and dynamics, programming in C, ability to grasp new concepts.Desired : Experience with Simscape, Python, object-oriented programming, XML, automatic code generation, and flight operations experience.Language and Personal Skills
