Data Software Engineer Overview

To support this growth, we need a Data Software Engineer to join our Claims team. This team is the core of Prima, comprising over 200 engineers across software development, infrastructure, operations, and security. Driven by curiosity, experimentation, and collaboration, you’ll help deliver scalable, impactful solutions shaping the future of insurance.
What you’ll do :
- Shape the architecture of data products for analytics and data science, focusing on forecasting, feature engineering, and integrating new data sources.
- Lead data transformation efforts by establishing best practices in data modeling, performance optimization, and data governance, ensuring data consistency, availability, and reliability.
- Build reusable technology enabling teams to ingest, store, transform, and serve their data products.
- Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to refine data infrastructure and explore the product landscape.
- Embrace continuous learning by staying updated on emerging technologies, testing open-source tools, and participating in community activities like Meetups.
- Assess and improve data quality standards in collaboration with stakeholders.
What we’re looking for :
Expertise in batch and near real-time streaming data processing with technologies like Kafka and Spark.Experience with Databricks is a plus.Experience implementing Big Data Analytics platforms using cloud solutions, preferably AWS.Proficiency in Python programming and software engineering best practices.Knowledge of RDBMS, Data Warehousing, Data Modeling with SQL (Redshift, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases.Skills in DevOps, CI / CD pipelines, and infrastructure as Code (IaC).Nice-to-have : Hands-on experience in Data Quality and Data Governance techniques.Why you’ll love it here :
