Job Description

Responsible for partnering with operational business functions for ESO Operations in Basel and other regional ESO offices in compliance with Internal Control Standards (NFCM = Novartis Finance Control Manual). Ensuring effective financial control policies, processes, and reporting procedures within ESO offices. Leading inventory and procurement processes, fostering innovation, and sharing best practices across ESO. Supporting Novartis’s strategy to leverage process, data, and digital technologies to transform into a data-driven, innovative pharmaceutical company. Managing and developing team members.

Major Accountabilities

• Ensure procurement activities comply with internal SOPs and manage related risks.
• Perform NFCM controls for procurement and inventory.
• Support audit processes and implement remediation plans.
• Maintain and improve internal control frameworks.
• Conduct self-assessments, monitor controls, and escalate compliance risks.
• Identify financial risks from organizational changes.
• Monitor audit issue resolutions.
• Collaborate with global and local functions to share best practices.
• Ensure inventory management procedures are followed.
• Train process owners on managing business risks and controls.
• Promote awareness of financial compliance.
• Support personal and team development.
• Implement health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Communicate company vision and build relationships with partners.

Minimum Requirements

Offer
