Software Development Engineer II

Would you love working with a creative engineering team in building an intelligent, scalable platform? The Travel Agent Affiliate Program (TAAP) team is focused on a multi-year effort to build best-in-class tools for travel advisors. Major areas of our platform include lodging shopping, checkout, and trip management experience on top of the Expedia platform.

As a Software Development Engineer, you will work in a small, agile team to design, develop, and maintain our TAAP product in a continuously integrated environment. You will build automated regression tests, participate in peer code reviews, and provide estimates on work. You will be asked to promote good development practices, execute superb software design, and contribute to a healthy culture.

What you will do :

• Build and own shopping, booking, and trip management experiences including checkout, post-booking processing, and reporting.
• Participate in resolution of production issues.
• Work with teams across Expedia Group to incorporate their services into our product.
• Contribute to writing, refactoring, testing, and perfecting code.
• Create APIs to be consumed across the business unit.
• Craft clean code using design patterns and object-oriented concepts, to ensure code is highly maintainable.
• Understand how teams' goals fit a business need.
• Identify business problems at the project level and provide solutions.

Strong expertise in :

Compile and report on major operational or technical initiatives (like RCAs) to larger groups, whether via written or oral means.
