QA Game Tester

Role Description

Illuvium aims to create a game that captivates players with an immersive world and intricate gameplay mechanics. To reach this vision, we are seeking dedicated Game Testers who are passionate about gaming genres such as RPG, RTS, and MOBA, and eager to contribute to refining our test scenarios and methodologies. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about the gaming industry, experienced in testing AAA titles, self-motivated to manage tasks within deadlines, and adaptable in addressing a variety of gameplay areas.

About Illuvium

Illuvium Labs is an independent game development studio based in the UAE. We develop blockchain based games for the Illuvium DAO. We have developed a strong culture of independence with our team, preferring candidates who can articulate their own vision and goals. We operate almost entirely remotely so each team member designs their own hours and work schedule. In the end all that matters is the delivered product. We hire based on people’s abilities to adapt and change quickly, valuing underlying core abilities above specific skill sets.

Responsibilities

Run and update given test scenarios.

Test in different environments.

Work with Confluence / JIRA (participates in the creation of test scenarios, reporting and monitoring defects, update of tests and documents, etc.), google suite, testrail and / or similar tools.

Identifies defects and reports them accurately with the necessary info and follows the internal QA guidelines.

Presents his findings to the team highlighting majors issues.

Tests for defects and also for the gaming / user experience providing relevant feedback.

Actively participates in project related meetings / discussions, expresses his ideas and asks questions in the appropriate context.

Keeps the team updated regarding his overall progress, needs and other issues of interest.

Skills and Qualifications

Is able to understand and manage priorities.

Quickly adaptable and able to tests different platforms (PC, mobile, tablets, etc.)

Has critical thinking and skilled in isolating complex issues (can clearly determine the cause and steps for the defect).

Experience working with Atlassian and google suite.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Effective time management and accurate estimations of the tasks received.

Able to work in an agile environment and follow the QA processes.

Proficient with tracking and monitoring the bug’s life Cycle.

Junior to Mid level experience in testing AAA games.

Preferred Qualifications

Passionate about new technologies and AAA games.

Nice to have - gaming XP within a structured format (leagues, competitions, etc.).

Quick learner, constantly seeks to improve and develop new skills.

Experience with strategy focused games and / or Auto battler type titles.

Familiar in blockchain technology and willingness to increase the knowledge in this area.
