What You Will Do

As DevOps Engineer at viaPhoton, you will collaborate with minds as exceptional and driven as your own.

You will oversee the day-to-day operations of our cloud environment, including monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing security measures to protect our data.

Daily duties include but are not limited to :

  • Architect security, network & core service layer on AWS.
  • Build and maintain cloud governance model and CI / CD pipelines.
  • Design & implement automated (least priv) deployments, environment buildup / teardown, etc.
  • Architect & implement redundancy, backup & disaster recovery resources.
  • Automated systems monitoring, alerts setup.
  • Manage access group policies.
  • Manage and optimize database solutions, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
  • Cost optimization and resource management.
  • Ensure seamless and uninterrupted service availability.
  • Define and publish operational and performance KPIs.
  • Build and maintain performance dashboards and occasionally present them to leadership.
  • Author, finalize, and publish documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

    • What You Will Bring

  • Well versed in architectural, operational and service structure on AWS.
  • Understands and can use different Infrastructure-As-Code frameworks (Github actions, CloudFormation, Pulumi, etc.).
  • Solid understanding or previous experience in software development is a plus. Experience with tools such as Ansible, or similar, Python, and / or OO framework is highly desirable.
  • Networking :
  • Administration and security of OSI layers 4-7 in AWS.
  • Comprehensive understanding of OSI layers 1-3.
  • Experience managing logs in AWS and CloudWatch.
  • Experience with observability platforms (Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace).
  • Familiarity with Container frameworks, scaling & containerization (Docker v2, K8 or similar, container registry services) on AWS e.g. ECR, ECS.
  • Auth (OAuth2, SSO). Oversee IAM roles & policies, including service provision and auth implementation.
  • Effectively communicate & collaborate with staff & leadership as it relates to cloud environment best practices.
  • Ability to learn, unlearn, and relearn. The ability to learn quickly and continuously and maintain a flexible and adaptive mindset necessary for a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, self-driven mindset where your growth is dependent on you.
  • Creative problem solving; if you don't know the answer, you’ll know how to find a way to it.
  • Multi-tasking with the ability to handle multiple inquiries at once and prioritize them accordingly.
