We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer who will design, develop, and maintain database architecture and code initiatives, support internal and third-party software solutions, deliver excellent products in scope and on time, and meet current and long-term business needs for the business area.

Main responsibilities :

  • Lead data governance initiatives, focusing on data ingestion into Snowflake, master and reference data management, and data quality automation for price reporting teams.
  • Deploy, manage, and enhance data models for metadata and master data systems, collaborating closely with product teams to deliver timely, effective, high-performance solutions.
  • Design and implement scalable data architectures and automated pipelines for seamless data ingestion and quality assurance.
  • Translate business data requirements into actionable solutions by identifying data needs and sources, and ensuring their alignment with system architecture.
  • Contribute to product improvement and revenue growth by creating robust data infrastructures that support new and enhanced features.
  • Guide, mentor, and develop team members, fostering professional growth and team cohesion.

Core skills / experience :

  • Degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience as a database developer (SQL Server or equivalent).
  • Skilled in designing and creating data models to enable seamless integration of multiple data sets and systems.
  • Capable of writing SQL queries and statements to explore source data and data-related issues.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data technologies and architecture.
  • Experience with Python for data analysis and automation.
  • Knowledgeable in building CI / CD pipelines for code deployment.
  • Proficiency in BI tooling, with a preference for Power BI.
  • Deep knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes, with expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing pipelines (i.e., Glue, Airflow) for Snowflake.
  • Experience with Snowflake-specific SQL, including schema design, data modeling, and query optimization to ensure efficient performance.
  • Knowledge of metadata management, reference data management, master data management, and data quality.
  • A strategic thinker and proactive learner, who excels at managing time and juggling competing demands independently.
  • A critical problem-solver who thrives in analyzing and resolving technical issues.
  • A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
