Position Summary

This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families.

On a practical level, you will :

  • Sign out a wide range of Diagnostic Pathology and / or Hematopathology cases.
  • Participate in rounds presentations, teaching and collaborative clinical research.
  • Maintain a high standard of practice including prompt delivery of services to match established key performance indicators and provincial metrics.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs.

Qualifications

  • The successful individual will be a licensed physician, or eligible for licensure, in the province of Ontario; hold or be eligible for Royal College Certification in Anatomic or General Pathology or Hematopathology; and will have (or be eligible for) an academic appointment with the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.
  • Experience and / or expertise in Hematopathology (i.e., bone marrows, lymph nodes, blood smears, transfusion medicine) will be considered as an asset.
  • As the successful candidate, you will possess a passion for service excellence and demonstrate a commitment to quality healthcare delivery and patient safety and support the academic mandate of the organization.
  • You will possess a strong history of collegiality with co-workers and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to continuing medical education.
