PURPOSE : Abercrombie & Kent Spain and Portugal is looking for two Travel Consultants - Sales / Ops to join their wonderful team in this exciting city. These roles will be responsible for the successful sale / operation of business for FIT tours and Groups. Success will be measured on achieving and exceeding set budgets and targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • To sale / operate tailor-made FIT / Groups programmes
  • Meet or exceed set and agreed budgets and targets.
  • To negotiate better hotel rates when needed
  • To cost each programme accurately, competitively and to the required level of quality within the agreed time frame whilst maintaining creativity.
  • To follow up on all new business quoted until a definitive result is obtained.
  • On confirmation, ensure the file is accurate.
  • To actively investigate new products / marketing opportunities to achieve greater sales to existing and new clients.
  • To check, when requested, costings and itinerary content of programmes which have been set up by other team members.
  • To maintain professional relationships with all suppliers, tour directors, colleagues, and clients at all times, including face-to-face sales and operations meetings.

Financial

  • To assist the Accounts Department with invoice queries as they arise
  • To enter financial data onto the system in a timely and accurate manner
  • To ensure that correct funds are received from a client by the agreed dates
  • General

  • General office duties such as answering telephone etc.
  • To conduct special projects as requested by the Manager / Supervisor
  • Provide guidance and assistance to members of staff in other European A&K DMC locations.
  • ABOUT YOU :

  • Excellent (preferably native) command of Spanish.
  • Excellent command of the English language, spoken and written, including creative writing.
  • Knowledge of the Portuguese language would be beneficial.
  • Experience in the travel industry, ideally in the luxury sector.
  • Experience in handling groups or even incentives as well as FITs will be an advantage
  • Numerate, accurate / detailed and dedicated
  • Results and sales driven

  • Excellent knowledge of Spain & Portugal
  • Excellent team player
