Currently, we are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading global container liner company, for the position of Senior Executive Operations - Barcelona, Spain.

Reporting To : Operations Manager

Vessel Operations

  • Inform about planned operational schedule changes, provide related documents, and support the vessel and crew.
  • Check and share berthing window / prospects and actual schedules with Lines / Stakeholders.
  • If the berthing window is not respected, renegotiate the berthing schedule with the terminal.
  • Order gangs / cranes and communicate call sequence.
  • Order and coordinate husbandry / stevedoring services.
  • Order and monitor supply and other services (e.g., cash to master, sludge).
  • Provide cargo documentation to the vessel.
  • Follow, order, and coordinate services (husbandry & stevedoring including mooring, bunkering & departure).
  • Generate reports according to deadlines.
  • Manage and monitor terminal services.
  • Coordinate vessel sailing.
  • Alert Regional Ops, Lines, and Berthing Manager in case of incidents.
  • Monitor and report procurement of terminal services and husbandry.
  • Monitor and report ongoing operations and productivity.
  • Monitor waiting time, idle time, and productivity, focusing on continuous improvements.
  • Manage special events (holds, customs inspections, damages, malfunctioning reefers, COD).
  • Provide hazardous data to local authorities (import, transit, and export cargo).
  • Coordinate POL loadings with dedicated teams, upload partner load lists, and inform Cargo Flow for prechecks.
  • Follow-up on loading instructions.
  • Prepare and provide special cargo documentation to husbandry or partners.
  • Produce provisional and final load lists for the ship manager or partners (inform Cargo Flow).
  • Produce load lists for the terminal.
  • Compare pre-stow with load list.
  • Follow-up cargo operations and manage shortfalls.
  • Send cargo summaries to customs authorities.

Post-Sailing Activities

  • Investigate discrepancies between Port Completion Report and invoices from cost control.
  • Perform local / auxiliary tasks.

  • Experience in Port Community Services (PCS)
  • Required Knowledge

  • Port processes, documentation, TTN tool handling
  • MS Office applications and report preparation skills
  • Knowledge of geography and port operations
  • English proficiency
