EMEA Payroll Specialist

Job Title :

EMEA Payroll Specialist

Position Location : Barcelona, Spain

Primary Function

  • Primary contact for EMEA employee issues and questions related to Payroll.
  • Will work with external Vendors to process international payrolls.

Reports To :

EMEA Regional Controller

Key Accountabilities

Business

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll processes for employees across multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Collect and validate employee data, including new hires, terminations, salary changes.
  • Address employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues related to compensation, deductions, and tax withholdings.
  • Coordinate with internal finance team of disbursements of funds for employees, taxes, and other payments as necessary.
  • Support implementation of a new global payroll vendor, providing standard methodology, and supporting discovery sessions with key partners.
  • Review and validate payroll inputs, including employee data, timesheets, benefits, and deductions, for accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage payroll data integrity and maintain employee records in compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Conduct periodic payroll audits to ensure data accuracy, identify discrepancies, and resolve any payroll-related issues.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in global payroll management as well as legal requirements.
  • Explores opportunities to simplify and automate processes to ensure maximum cost-efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develops and documents procedural improvements.
  • May be responsible for development and / or delivery of training related to payroll.

  • Knowledge, Skills,

    and Requirements :

  • A minimum of 2 years of international payroll experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience using automated Payroll systems and utilizing a third-party payroll provider.
  • Handle highly sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate high standards of customer service and excellent follow-up skills.
  • Strong analytical and math skills to identify issues and problem solve.
  • Critical thinker to identify areas of improvement and recommend process improvements.
  • Ability to read and interpret data, information and documents and assess reasonableness.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate Excel skills using pivot tables and V-lookups.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet payroll deadlines.
  • English and Spanish. Other European languages are a plus.
  • Nice to have :

  • Experience using UKG PRO and Workforce Dimensions
  • Manufacturing payroll is a plus.
  • LI-AC1
