Legal Counsel – Project Finance & PPA
About the Role :
We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel with a strong background in Project Finance and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to support large-scale renewable energy projects across multiple jurisdictions in Europe. The role focuses on providing legal support through all stages of project financing, contracting, and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate project finance documentation (loan agreements, security packages, hedging, and related contracts).
- Draft and negotiate PPA agreements – including physical and virtual PPAs, tolling, and route-to-market agreements.
- Advise internal stakeholders on risk allocation, compliance, and transaction structure .
- Coordinate and manage external counsels across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ensure compliance with local and international banking, finance, and corporate laws .
- Support project teams and senior management with deal execution and strategic decisions .
Key Requirements
Qualified Lawyer5+ years PQE with proven experience in Project Finance and / or PPA transactions .Previous experience in renewable energy or infrastructure projects – mandatory .Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.Excellent English (written and spoken).Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced, cross-border environment.Preferred Experience
Worked with international lenders or investors (e.g., EIB, EBRD, IFC).Background from a top-tier law firm or renewable energy developer .Additional European language – an advantage.What’s Offered
