Location : Spain

Territory : Spain, UK and Germany

Purpose of Role

The Clinical Trial Liaison (CTL) plays a pivotal role in supporting clinical study start-up, patient recruitment and retention, and study conduct with a strong focus on scientific and operational excellence. Acting as the key interface between clinical trial sites and internal stakeholders, the CTL ensures efficient trial execution while fostering relationships with investigators and referral networks. This role contributes to both Medical Affairs and Clinical Development objectives for a portfolio of pipeline products.

Key accountabilities :

Site Relationship Management and Clinical Trial Support

  • Represent our client to support scientific and operational aspects of sponsored trials, ensuring alignment with study protocols and timelines.
  • Partner with study team to address site-specific challenges (e.g. start up delays, recruitment barriers, ...) and develop tailored solutions.
  • Identify referral networks to optimize patient enrollment through relationship building, scientific engagement, and educating HCPs about clinical trials
  • Identify and establish relationships with HCPs (KOLs, Investigators, potential referring MDs, potential future KOLs and sites) to drive patient recruitment and expand trial visibility.
  • Share knowledge / insights on PI’s interest, publication opportunities, or potential Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs) with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Assist providers and their staff to identify patients, improve service delivery and enhance patient adherence

Education and Engagement

  • Provide accurate, non-promotional scientific education on the scientific rationale and study criteria to study sites.
  • Respond to medical inquiries, related to clinical trial design / rationale, using approved resources.
  • Ensure requests for information from PIs are managed efficiently and as per established processes.
  • Develop and maintain strong communication links with PIs, and their study teams to enable peer-to-peer scientific exchange regarding disease and clinical trial needs.
  • Assist with the identification of potential investigators for clinical advisory boards and future trials.
  • May be required to attend national and / or international medical and scientific meetings to both stay current on developments within the field and to identify and build relationships with potential investigators
  • Represent our client at potential sponsored events with and / or at the request of the Patient Advocacy team to raise awareness about clinical trials, and the company’s commitment to improving patient lives.
  • Scientific Expertise

  • Keep up to date with the latest scientific research and clinical data relevant to immunology and the pipeline product portfolio.
  • Cross Functional Support

  • Respond to scientific enquiries from internal teams and distributors in a timely accurate manner
  • Deliver scientific training courses to PIs
  • Gather and report actionable insights from KOLs, investigators and referring HCPs to inform clinical as well as commercial strategy
  • Compliance

  • Operate in a highly ethical manner and comply with ethical standards, all laws, regulations and policies.
  • Complete mandatory training promptly (within assigned timelines) and adhere to updates in SOP’s, policies and guidance documents.
  • Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Ideally an advanced doctoral degree (MD, PHD, Pharm D) or Master’s degree
  • Strong knowledge of Immunology, ideally experience in Systemic Sclerosis, Lupus and / or in Hydradenitis Suppurativa
  • Experience in the field of clinical research in the appropriate region including optimization of enrolment strategies
  • Solid understanding of clinical trial design, conduct and evaluation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to present complex medical / scientific information in a clear and concise manner
  • Networking skills and confidence to interact with senior experts on a peer-to-peer level
  • Critical data analysis skills
  • Ability to function well, both independently and within a team setting, in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Biotech experience preferred
  • Fluent in English and fluency in the language of a local country is required
  • Able to travel internationally, up to ~50-70% of the time
