One of the largest independent traders in the cement industry, with over 20 years of experience, is seeking an Operations Manager. The company is a global leader in maritime cement trading and operates independently across all markets.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the trade operations / execution department, overseeing people, processes, documentation, systems, and coordination with internal and external teams.
- Integrate trade operations with other business units (trading, shipping, finance, etc.).
- Provide clear direction, develop team capabilities, and recruit as needed to enhance skills.
- Improve operational efficiency through processes, technology, systems, and people.
- Oversee daily trade operations, resolving contract and shipment issues, and managing trade documentation.
- Handle quality claims, delays, contract deviations, and other operational challenges in coordination with traders.
- Develop standardized contracts and processes, manage tenders, and ensure compliance with commercial standards.
- Supervise the shipping operations, ensuring compliance with charter party terms and managing vessel operations from load to discharge.
- Manage legal procedures and disputes with owners, shippers, and consignees.
- Oversee Letters of Credit (LC) issuance, resolve issues, and support the finance team with invoices and audits.
- Collaborate with the finance team to track cash flow and assist in ERP development to create a global integrated platform.
