Visual Basic 6 Consultant (Operate / Support Lead)

Location : Spain (Ideally Barcelona)

Start Date : ASAP

Project Duration : Minimum 4-6 months (renewable)

Overview : We are seeking an experienced Visual Basic 6 Consultant to join our team in a critical Operation / Support Lead role. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in Visual Basic 6, .NET, and SQL Server, combined with excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Key Requirements :

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English (mandatory)
  • Strong proficiency in Visual Basic 6, .NET, and SQL Server
  • Excellent communication skills with business users
  • Team management and leadership experience
  • Stakeholder management and reporting skills

Technical Skills :

  • Visual Basic 6 (primary focus)
  • NET framework
  • SQL Server
  • ITIL knowledge and process implementation
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity experience

    • Primary Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage the support team
  • Interact with customers on reported issues and manage expectations
  • Quickly understand application knowledge and transition from current team members
  • Implement ITIL processes and best practices
  • Manage disaster recovery and business continuity procedures
  • Produce WSR (Weekly Status Reports) and MSR (Monthly Status Reports)
  • Handle risk management and escalations
  • Coordinate with third-party suppliers for software upgrades and issue resolution

    • Additional Skills and Qualifications :

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience with application analysis, design, and development
  • Familiarity with SOAP or REST APIs (preferred)
