The Role

Key Responsibilities :

  • Define and drive the observability strategy and architecture across applications, services, and infrastructure.
  • Architect and implement advanced solutions using Dynatrace , including custom instrumentation, end-to-end tracing, Real User Monitoring (RUM), and synthetic monitoring.
  • Design scalable dashboarding frameworks to deliver real-time insights for operations, development, and business stakeholders.
  • Establish enterprise-wide alerting standards to support intelligent, noise-reducing incident response practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams to integrate observability into the software development lifecycle.
  • Lead the development of SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs, and ensure they are monitored effectively.
  • Advocate for observability best practices and foster a performance-driven engineering culture.
  • Provide architectural oversight and technical guidance for observability tool integrations, including data pipelines and visualization layers.
  • Evaluate and introduce new observability tools and frameworks to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Mentor team members and establish governance around monitoring and alerting practices.

As an Observability Architect, you will lead a critical function in shaping how we monitor, measure, and improve the performance and reliability of our systems. You’ll have the opportunity to set standards, mentor teams, and make a lasting impact on system resilience and customer experience.

Who You Are

Required Skills and Experience :

  • 5+ years of experience in observability, monitoring, APM, or SRE roles, with a focus on architecture and strategy.
  • Deep expertise in Dynatrace , including agent deployment, custom metrics, distributed tracing, and automation.
  • Strong track record in designing dashboarding and alerting systems that scale across teams and environments.
  • Solid understanding of modern cloud-native architectures (microservices, containers, serverless).
  • Proficient in defining and implementing SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs across complex distributed systems.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and aligning observability strategies with business and technical goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on performance, resilience, and operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Preferred Skills and Experience :

  • Knowledge of ViewtiNet or similar network performance monitoring platforms.
  • Familiarity with additional observability tools like Grafana , Prometheus , Elastic Stack , Splunk , AppDynamics , or New Relic .
  • Experience in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong scripting or programming skills for observability automation (e.g., Python , Shell , PowerShell ).
  • Experience integrating observability into CI / CD pipelines and DevOps processes.
  • Understanding of containerized platforms such as Kubernetes , Docker , or OpenShift .
  • Certifications in Dynatrace, cloud platforms, or other observability tools are a plus.
