Job Title : Junior Firmware and Operating Systems Engineer

Salary : €50,000

Join a leading technology innovator based in Barcelona specialising in RISC-V. The company focuses on low-level systems, advancing firmware, device drivers, and virtualisation technologies to enable next-generation hardware features and exceptional user experiences.

Overview :

Develop low- and mid-level software, including BIOS, firmware, and device drivers, to enable innovative hardware features and optimise system performance.

Junior OS Engineer Responsibilities :

Develop and maintain low-level software (BIOS, firmware) for novel hardware architectures.
Create Linux device drivers to expose hardware features, telemetry, and acceleration.
Extend emulation, simulation, and virtualisation tools.
Collaborate with hardware teams to drive hardware / software co-design.

Junior OS Engineer Required Qualifications :

Strong knowledge of computer architecture, Linux kernel internals, and pre-boot processes.

Proficiency in low-level languages (C, Rust) with assembly and bare-metal development experience.

Familiarity with Git, CI pipelines, and task management tools.
