IT Project Manager (Governance)

This position involves defining, implementing, and maintaining governance policies, and processes to optimize IT performance, manage risks, and ensure compliance. The IT Governance Project Manager will collaborate with stakeholders to execute governance initiatives, lead IT-related audits, and oversee the implementation of best practices in IT Services.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop policies, processes, and standards to promote consistent and effective IT operations.
• Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of governance initiatives.
• Identify and assess IT risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards (e.g., COBIT, ISO 27001, ITIL ), and applicable regulations.
• Collaborate with the legal and compliance teams to address regulatory changes and implement necessary updates.
• Coordinate internal and external IT audits, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of audit documentation, ensuring timely responses to findings and recommendations.
• Implement and follow-up corrective actions to address audit findings and enhance IT controls.
• Ensures compliance with licensing coverage (purchasing & renewal).
• Is accountable for the management of the life cycle of systems and applications, the maintenance of the controls defined for the management of projects and their subsequent maintenance, ensuring the integrity of the information.
• Ensures software delivery and code integrity and project compliance with company’s quality standards.
• Provides a global vision of the direct and indirect costs of all technological platforms, ensuring budget management associated with the investment and expenditure thereof, as well as identifying and applying efficiencies where possible.
• Provides support to the management of relationship with suppliers, local and globally, and bidding processes in collaboration with purchasing area.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Academic Profile :

Education : University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Certifications in governance, risk, and compliance (e.g., COBIT, ITIL, CISA, CGEIT) are a plus.

Relevant Experience :

Proven experience in IT governance, risk management, or compliance roles.

Strong background in managing IT projects with governance or compliance components.

Experience working with governance frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, ISO 27001, or NIST.

Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or similar).

Familiarity with IT risk management methodologies and audit processes.

Ability to align IT governance initiatives with organizational goals and strategic priorities.

Skilled in identifying gaps in processes, controls, and documentation to ensure compliance and performance excellence.

Strong ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Capability to analyse complex processes, identify risks, and propose effective solutions.

Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
