Senior AWS Cloud Engineer – Observability LeadLocation :

BarcelonaPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer with a strong background in observability engineering to take a leadership role within our technology team. This role is pivotal in defining and executing a robust observability strategy across cloud-native and hybrid environments.The ideal candidate will bring proven hands-on experience in AWS architecture, monitoring automation, and system reliability, alongside a solid track record of leading technical teams.This is a high-impact role focused on ensuring visibility, performance, and operational excellence across our distributed systems.Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor a remote cloud engineering team (based in India), fostering best practices in observability and cloud operations.- Architect and implement a company-wide observability strategy with a strong focus on AWS environments .- Design, deploy, and optimise observability tooling using OpenTelemetry or Dynatrace, or Grafana (experience with at least two is essential).- Develop automated observability and monitoring pipelines within AWS (mandatory), with optional support for Azure .- Monitor system health and drive troubleshooting strategies in cloud-native and on-premises environments.- Work closely with infrastructure, platform, and DevOps teams to align observability tooling with performance and reliability goals.- Identify gaps in monitoring coverage and implement scalable solutions using modern cloud-native tools and automation.Required Qualifications- Extensive experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, including monitoring, deployment automation, and troubleshooting.- Deep familiarity with at least two of the following :

OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace, Grafana .- Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams in a distributed setup.- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, and CI / CD pipelines .- Experience working in both hybrid (cloud and on-prem) environments.- Strong communication and documentation skills across distributed teams.- Demonstrated success in increasing system observability, reliability, and incident response capabilities.Preferred Skills- Azure exposure or certification (nice to have).- Certifications in AWS, Kubernetes, or observability tools.- Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) frameworks.- Experience evaluating or migrating to new observability tools.
