Database Engineer (OpenStreetMap and PostgreSQL)

Job Description :

Trigyn has a contractual opportunity for a Database Engineer (OpenStreetMap and PostgreSQL). This resource will be working in Valencia, Spain

Job Responsibilities :

o Manage global OpenStreetMap (OSM) database replica based on PostgreSQL, including the design, implementation and enhancements as necessary.

o Monitor daily updates of the in-house replica through regular (daily) diffs.

o Optimize and improve the performance of databases and queries.

o Manage PostgreSQL objects (roles, permissions, tables, partitioned tables, views, materialized views, schemas, functions, procedures, triggers, backup, restore, data replication and synchronization mechanisms) and perform troubleshooting in case of issues

o Manage geodata using open-source geospatial routines such as : ogr2ogr, gdal, osmium, osmosis, imposm and osm2pgsql

• Skills / Experience :

o Expertise of PostgreSQL and PostGIS database administration is required.

o Proficiency in Linux, Linux Shell Scripting and Python is required.

o Expertise on OSM data model (geographic, historic, data formats) and other geospatial data is desirable.

o Proficiency in at least one of the GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS Desktop) is desirable.

o Basic knowledge of Docker containers, LUA and R is desirable.
