Work Hours : Mon–Thurs : 09 : 00–18 : 30, Fri : 09 : 00–15 : 00

We are currently seeking an experienced Proximity Engineer for a long-term freelance engagement. This role is ideal for a highly skilled professional with 6–8 years of hands-on experience in backup solutions, patching and vulnerability management, virtualization, and automation. You'll be part of a critical technical function supporting enterprise-level infrastructure and tooling.

Key Responsibilities & Technical Requirements

• You should have strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in :
• Backup solutions such as Druva, Commvault, Avamar, or similar.
• Patching and vulnerability systems at both technical and management levels (e.g. Altiris, SUSE Manager, SCCM, WSUS, Nessus, Tenable, Wiz).
• Virtualization technologies like Nutanix, VMware, VxRail, and exposure to AWS.
• Operating systems : Proficiency across Linux, UNIX, and Windows environments.
• Automation tools : Especially Ansible, as well as scripting / programming capabilities.
• Familiarity with shared data centre infrastructure, middleware, and database technologies is advantageous.
• Exposure to cloud technologies is highly desirable.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential.

Engagement Type : Freelance / Contract

Duration : 12 months initially, with a high likelihood of extension

Location : Hybrid working (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)

Schedule : Full-time (Monday–Friday)
