We are currently looking for an Engineering Manager (Platform) to manage and grow our Platform Engineering team. In this role, you will be central to driving the adoption of DevOps principles across the organisation, ensuring that our tools, processes, and pipelines scale effectively as we build and manage cutting-edge blockchain solutions. Day to Day :

Lead and mentor a team of Platform (DevOps) and Database engineers, ensuring they meet and exceed expectations while managing project deadlines.

Drive the adoption and implementation of DevOps best practices across engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer focus.

Act as a key point of escalation for platform or database related issues and incidents (including out of hours), coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure swift and effective resolution.

Support product and engineering teams in becoming high-performing, autonomous units, improving their operational efficiency and DevOps maturity.

Work closely with software engineering, security, and architecture teams to ensure infrastructure and deployment strategies align with company goals.

Lead post-incident reviews, conducting root cause analysis and ensuring that improvements are made to prevent future incidents.

Represent your team to senior stakeholders, providing guidance on project scope, dependencies, and technical decisions.

Own project tracking, risk management, and resource allocation across multiple engineering initiatives.

What we’re looking for from you :

Experience : Proven experience leading teams within the platform engineering or DevOps space, with strong knowledge of CI / CD practices and DevOps culture.

Technical Skills : Extensive experience in system administration, cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud), and CI / CD pipelines (Gitlab, Bamboo). Familiarity with Kubernetes, Service Mesh and observability tools is essential.

Cloud Expertise : A solid understanding of both public and private cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud, OpenStack, VMWare).

Database knowledge : A working knowledge of core database fundamentals, ideally with exposure to platforms using both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (Cassndra, Elasticsearch, MongoDB) databases.

Scripting Skills : Advanced knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Perl, or Ruby, along with a basic understanding of software development concepts.

Platform Management : Practical experience in managing high-load systems using Kubernetes and provisioning tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar.

Problem-Solving : Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, track, and resolve issues efficiently.

Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Leadership : A natural leader with experience in mentoring and coaching engineers, supporting them to reach their full potential.

Interview Process : Our interview process consists of; a short call with our internal talent team, followed by a 1 hour technical interview and finally a 1 hour competency interview. Our talent team will be there to give guidance and support you through the process.
