Job summary

Senior Data Center Solutions Engineer for Spain. Lead technical advisory, architect custom infrastructure, and drive engineering partnerships. Must have 7+ years data center expertise & be fluent in Spanish / English. Travel required.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Advisory & Solution Architecture :

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for key data center clients in Spain, providing expert guidance on comprehensive infrastructure solutions, including power systems (UPS, PDUs), precision cooling, racks & accessories, and environment management systems.
  • Collaborate with clients to deeply understand their current and future data center infrastructure needs, challenges, and long-term strategic objectives (e.g., scalability, energy efficiency, resilience, AI-readiness, liquid cooling integration).
  • Architect and design custom, optimized data center solutions, translating client requirements into detailed technical specifications and proposals. This includes conducting site assessments, power and cooling calculations, and presenting technical justifications.
  • Advise clients on best practices for data center design, deployment, and operation, focusing on achieving industry-leading PUE and operational efficiency.
  • Lead technical workshops and presentations to demonstrate the value and capabilities of our data center offerings.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between clients and our internal engineering, product development, and support teams, ensuring seamless communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance during the implementation and commissioning phases of data center projects, ensuring solutions are deployed according to design specifications and client expectations.
  • Assist with troubleshooting complex technical issues and coordinating resolutions with our support and R&D teams.
  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation, case studies, and training materials based on successful project deployments and client feedback.

Market Insight & Business Development (Engineering Focus) :

  • Identify emerging trends and technological advancements within the Spanish data center market (e.g., edge computing, modular data centers, sustainable data center practices, advanced cooling technologies).
  • Provide critical market intelligence to our product development teams, influencing future product roadmaps and solution offerings to meet evolving market demands in Spain.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for expansion and optimization within existing client infrastructures, presenting technical upgrade paths and solution enhancements.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, technical seminars, and networking events, sharing expertise and building professional relationships within the data center engineering community.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in data center design, engineering, operations , or technical consulting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data center infrastructure components , including UPS systems, precision cooling units (CRAC / CRAH), power distribution, racks, and DCIM solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data center best practices, industry standards (e.g., TIA-942, Uptime Institute tiers, ASHRAE thermal guidelines), and energy efficiency principles (PUE optimization).
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and compelling solutions for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with project management methodologies in an engineering context.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global, cross-functional team.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across Spain to client sites.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CDCDP, CDCS, Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer / Specialist, BICSI RCDD, PMP).
  • Experience with thermal management strategies, including liquid cooling solutions.
  • Knowledge of automation and control systems within data center environments.
