DESCRIPTION : Amazon is searching for a data-driven and customer-obsessed individual to join our Cost Management team based in Madrid, Spain. The successful candidate will be a key part of the team and will be responsible for all cost aspects of our pan-EU specialist logistics building program. The individual will report to the Head of Cost Management and drive data-driven decisions to deliver the most frugal solutions for cost control and problem solving for our customers in the construction and engineering teams.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Provide centralized cost support to project teams negotiating new projects
• Create construction estimates for capital requests and support with cost benchmarking data
• Support project teams on implementing procurement strategies and guidelines
• Assist with the preparation of standardized GC tender documents, support the tender process, participate in tender evaluations, and develop GC recommendations and appointments
• Lead regular reviews of project risks and opportunities to minimize outturn costs through value engineering and cost avoidance

A Day in the Life

A typical day will involve meeting with teams for new projects, developing cost analysis, and creating benchmarks to compare with historical projects. You will be the main contact for all cost-related topics for new projects until budget approval, managing approximately 15-20 projects at any given time. You will also collaborate closely with our internal design team and other cost managers for new or updated building design generations.
