Research Director - Bioethics Institute

We are seeking a senior researcher to lead a research and teaching institute in bioethics or medical ethics. This is a new project at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

The director must have the broad vision to create the institute and from there, influence the world through research and teaching in bioethics. The institute will be independent to conduct research in the field and will be housed in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. It will be a multi-disciplinary institute that may have partnerships with all health sciences degrees on campus (medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, psychology, dentistry, bioengineering and biomedical sciences).

• Lead research projects and grant applications in the field of Bioethics.
• Develop educational programmes on bioethics for students (health science degree and master's degree), health professionals, researchers and other actors.
• Encourage multidisciplinary collaboration to address bioethical issues from different perspectives.
• Provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and critical analysis.
• Establish alliances with other research institutes, universities and organisations to promote global ethics in the context of science and health.
• Publish research on bioethical issues contributing to the academic body on ethical issues.
• Promote ethics in science, emphasising the importance of integrating ethical principles into all phases of research and the development of new technologies.
