With a permanent position working for Schneider Electric Regional Execution Platform (REP) Bratislava, Digital Protections Application Senior Engineer :
Is responsible for IED Protection parameters (Logic, Communication, Protection Settings) design and commissioning for Complex Technical International projects within Europe and South America Region.Has advanced knowledge about complete SE IED portfolio (VAMP, SEPAM, MICOM, EASERGY, TESYS)Has advanced knowledge about Communication protocols (IEC61850, Modbus, OPC, Profibus, DNP3, IEC103, etc.)Has advanced knowledge about Power Metering Relays and how to use / program themHas confirmed experience about GOOSE (Generic Object Oriented Substation Event) signalsHas advanced knowledge about ANSI / IEEE Standard Device Function numbersLearns and applies applicable standards, tools, procedures and best practices in this area.Reports on commercial and technical argumentation in this area.Main tasks on her / his leadership are (at least) the following :
Define the best type of SE IED that complies with client needs accordingly with protection planUnderstand and implement LV / MV protection settingParticipates in Protection Relays Testing in Factory or SiteDevelop complex Logic functions inside IED to comply with client needsImplement Communication IED descriptions (CID files) for communication with internal and external SCADA systemsDefines IP and Ethernet network between connected devicesDevelop and commission Automatic Transfer Logic (ATS)Participates in Tender process to estimate and quote manhours neededParticipates on Site commissioning on ED SWGR and EMCS interfacingScope and environment
INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS
With the Project Team to organize Design / commissioning tasks.With the Project Manager (PM), to manage schedules and customer interfaces.With the Design Leaders & Technical Leader Electrical and Digital, to advise on correct implementation of IED Logic and communication files (CID).With the Power System team to discuss the results of protection studies, to analyze eventual need of change or upgrade electrical equipment to ensure protection discriminationwith the GCP Digital Integration team to be aware and informed about latest trends and practices in digital communityEXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS
With the customers, upon request of the TL (or PM).Potentially with external vendors if clients use a competitor IED rangeKey responsibilities, activities and skill set
TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Assumes technical responsibility for robust design or for commissioning.Ensures quality (content, timing, costs) of the work doneWrites Technical reports to TL and ClientParticipates in design meetings if required, participates actively in the capitalization and sharing of experienceMaintains technical theoretical and applied skills in the ED and Power Systems domainContributes to technical innovation and productivity by sharing best practicesSKILL SETS
Strong skills in IEC & IEEE standards applicable within the ED field, knowledge of the methodology & acceptance criteria defined thereinStrong knowledge of Protection system operation, latest ranges of protection relays, preferably Micom, Sepam, Easergy & Vamp ranges.Advanced skills using IED configuration tools, like Micom S1, SFT2841, VampsetAdvanced level skills in communication protocolsKnowledge of cybersecurity and experience constructing secure networks to avoid unauthorized access or digital threats to operating networksExperience with Cybersecurity Admin Expert Cybersecurity Application PlatformExperience or literacy on Sequence of Operation PLC DesignCOMMERCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
In coordination with the TL and PM, participates in meetings with customers to clarify their needs; identifies technical limits; obtains approvalsAble to create quotation tools for calculations / studiesTracks costs and improves profitability of the calculations / studies, considering the cost of both engineering and site travelling if commissioning is engagedRESPONSIBILITIES IN TERMS OF QUALITY
Is responsible for the quality of his / her studies and for the associated documentationImplements the Quality policy and improves the level of customer satisfactionRespect and follow SE HSE Standards and rulesRESPONSIBILITY IN TERMS OF SECURITY / SAFETY

Education
University degree in Electrical engineering (Bachelor as minimum, preferably Master) with a strong experience in the electrical distribution field and in the customer project business
Languages
English language fluent mandatory (minimum B2 level)Fluency in French is an advantage.Fluency in other languages as Spanish and / or German is a plus.Experience
